Shooting Stars’ General Manager, Dimeji Lawal, has urged his players to maintain their high level of performance as they prepare for their upcoming Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) clash against Ikorodu City in Lagos.

The match, scheduled for Sunday, October 17, will be the first-ever southwest derby between the two sides, to be held at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan.

In his pre-match address, Lawal commended the players for their dominant display in the previous fixture, where they triumphed over El-Kanemi Warriors.

He emphasized that their recent form, which earned them a well-deserved victory, must be replicated against Ikorodu City in what promises to be a highly competitive encounter.

“On behalf of the management, I want to appreciate you guys for a job well done in last Sunday’s game against El-Kanemi Warriors,” Lawal stated.

“I’m quite happy that you did not disappoint us, and you did not disappoint yourselves either. Ultimately, you made our supporters and fans happy.”

He continued, “Now we look forward to the next game against Ikorodu City in Lagos on Sunday, and I want to charge you to replicate that form by getting a positive result against Ikorodu City.”

Lawal’s rallying call comes at a crucial juncture in the season, as the Oluyole Warriors aim to extend their strong performances and maintain their momentum in the NPFL.

The southwest derby is expected to be a fierce contest, with both teams eager to assert dominance in the region.

As the match draws near, Shooting Stars will be looking to build on their recent success and continue their push for a strong finish in the league.
