Southampton manager Russel Martin places huge value on Joe Aribo

By Saheed Afolabi
Southampton boss, Russel Martin has described how impactful Joe Aribo is while away on national team assignment at the 2023 Africa Cup Of Nations (AFCON).
Aribo came off the bench to net the Saints only goal in the 2-1 loss to Hull City on Tuesday.
Martin said the Nigeria midfielder was missed during his absence at the AFCON and he has showed his impact since returning to the club.
Despite coming off the bench in two matches now, the Southampton gaffer believes Aribo is in great shape to start matches for the club.
“Amazing. We have missed him so much and he showed that the other night,” Aribo was quoted by Daily Echo.
“I think he is ready to start games now, although he has been away for a while.
“He is a huge player for us and you can see why he wore the armband for us.”
The Saints are fourth on the English Championship log with 67 points from 33 matches and will face Millwall in their next game on Saturday, February 24.
