Nigerian striker Josh Maja is reportedly set to leave West Bromwich Albion, with strong interest from two Premier League giants, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, according to Nigeriafootball.ng.

The 26-year-old forward, who previously played in the Premier League during the 2020/2021 season with Fulham, has impressed this season, scoring 12 goals and providing two assists for West Brom, helping guide the club to sixth place in the EFL Championship.

Maja had joined Fulham on a six-month loan from French Ligue 1 side Girondins de Bordeaux, where he scored three goals in 15 matches.

West Brom is reportedly willing to part with Maja for a fee of around £15 million, a sum that both Chelsea and Tottenham have the financial resources to meet, according to Fichajes.

Chelsea is keen to bring in a quality competitor for their striker Nicolas Jackson, especially after struggling in front of goal this season. Maja is considered a more affordable option compared to their initial interest in fellow Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen.

Tottenham, on the other hand, signed Dominic Solanke for £55 million plus add-ons from Bournemouth in the summer but is in need of a reliable backup for Solanke.

With Richarlison struggling due to injury issues and Timo Werner failing to deliver consistent performances, Spurs view Maja as a potential solution. They are also monitoring Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford, who is reportedly seeking a move away from Old Trafford.

It remains to be seen whether West Bromwich Albion will allow Maja to leave during the winter transfer window.
