“We have no excuse” – Babaganaru talks up Akwa United’s task vs Sunshine Stars
By Wale Mustapha
Akwa United head coach Muhammed Babaganaru is confident that his team is ready to secure their first win of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season against Sunshine Stars at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Saturday.
After starting their campaign with two draws—a goalless stalemate against Lobi Stars and a 1-1 tie with Abia Warriors—Babaganaru believes the Promise Keepers are well-prepared following a break in Matchday Three.
“The spirit in camp is encouraging, and we want to build on that positivity,” Babaganaru said.
He emphasized the importance of the match, stating that it presents another opportunity to kick off their season with a victory.
“We know it’s up to us to go all out and fight for the win,” he added.
The coach noted that the team has worked on addressing issues identified in their opening matches, particularly in finishing.
“We trust that the boys will replicate what they did in training into today’s match,” he said.
Fans are expected to provide strong support as Akwa United aims for their first three points of the season.
The match is set to kick off at 5:30 PM and will be broadcast live on StarTimes Television, with live text commentary available on all Akwa United social media platforms.
