Rivers United Go Top of NPFL After Narrow Win Over Plateau United

Rivers United reclaimed the top spot in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) after securing a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Plateau United.

The decisive moment came early in the match, as Wisdom Samuel found the back of the net in the 11th minute, giving Rivers United a crucial lead they held onto until full time. The victory takes them to 58 points from 34 matches, putting them firmly at the summit of the league table.

Meanwhile, Rangers International slipped to second position after being held to a goalless draw by Niger Tornadoes.

In Aba, Enyimba FC boosted their survival hopes with an emphatic 3-0 win over Katsina United. Goals from Stanley Dimgba, Chidera Michael, and Wonah Williams sealed a dominant performance for the hosts.

Shooting Stars SC were held to a 0-0 draw by Kwara United at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan.

At the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri, Kun Khalifat FC cruised to a 3-0 victory over Warri Wolves. Uchechukwu Onuoha starred with a brace, while Mmesoma Nnorom added the third.

In Yenagoa, Wikki Tourists recorded the only away win of the day, edging Bayelsa United 1-0 thanks to a 67th-minute strike from Imamu Bala.

Ikorodu City FC delivered a commanding 3-0 victory over Kano Pillars, with goals from Joseph Arumala, Tosin Oyedokun, and Abayomi Ayodeji.

Elsewhere, Barau FC secured a 2-1 win over Remo Stars.
