Akor Adams continued his impressive scoring run as Sevilla FC fought back from two goals down to claim a thrilling 3-2 victory over Villarreal CF at the Estadio de la Cerámica on Wednesday night.
The Nigerian striker has now scored in consecutive matches for Sevilla after also netting the winner in last weekend’s 2-1 triumph over RCD Espanyol.
Villarreal started strongly and took the lead in the 13th minute through Gerard Moreno before Georges Mikautadze doubled the hosts’ advantage seven minutes later.
Sevilla responded before the break, with Oso reducing the deficit in the 36th minute. Kike Salas then brought the visitors level deep into first-half stoppage time to complete a dramatic turnaround in momentum.
Adams eventually sealed the comeback victory with the decisive goal 18 minutes from full-time, continuing his excellent form in front of goal for the Rojiblancos.
The 26-year-old has now registered 10 goals and three assists in 30 league appearances this season for manager Luis García Plaza.
Adams was later substituted four minutes from the end for Andres Castrin.
Meanwhile, fellow Nigerian international Chidera Ejuke remained an unused substitute for Sevilla during the encounter.
