UCL: Nigeria-eligible Tobias Lawal shines despite Liverpool thrash LASK

Liverpool inflicted a 3-1 home defeat on Tobias Lawal’s LASK in the UEFA Champions League group stage tie.

The former Nigeria invitee was at his best and impressed for the entiresaw his side failed to put up a fight against the dominant Reds. Tobias who kept in the game showed charisma to pull great saves in the encounter and further denied Liverpool a heavy win in the game.

Florian Flecker gave LASK the lead with an emohatic finish in the 14th minute.

Lawal was instrumental to LASK lead before the break with his astonishing saves to deny Liverpool.

Liverpool’s dominance in the game came to play as Darwin Nunez leveled the score line through the spot in the 56th minute.

Luis Diaz and Mohammed Salah extended Liverpool’s lead in the game to 3-1 to scare off LASK.

Lawal stood tall to provide an elite double save to deny the Reds any goal in the game.

In 2020, Lawal had received Nigeria call-up and still remain eigible to represent Nigeria through his father.
