Nigeria international Calvin Bassey has emerged as a contender for Fulham Player of the Month for April, showcasing his consistent contributions on the field.

Throughout April, the 24-year-old demonstrated his reliability by featuring in every minute of Fulham’s five games, a notable feat as the only center-back to do so.

Despite Fulham’s mixed results last month, with one win, one draw, and three losses, Bassey’s steadfast performances provided a glimmer of optimism for the Cottagers. During this period, the team scored five goals and conceded eight.

Notably, Bassey played a pivotal role in Fulham’s 2-0 victory over West Ham, highlighting his significant impact on the pitch. His impressive form has cemented his position as a key figure in Marco Silva’s defensive setup this season, having missed only eight Premier League games when included in the matchday squad.

However, Bassey faces stiff competition from three teammates—Andreas Pereira, Joao Palhinha, and Rodrigo Muniz—for the coveted Player of the Month title.

Having joined Fulham from Eredivisie giants Ajax last summer, Bassey has made 29 appearances across all competitions for the Cottagers this season, finding the back of the net once.

One of Bassey’s standout performances occurred during Fulham’s victory against Arsenal in December. In that match, he achieved a 100% take-on success rate, maintained a remarkable 93% pass accuracy, and made several crucial clearances and interceptions, as reported by Squawka.

The ultimate winner of the Player of the Month award will be determined through fan voting on the club’s social media platforms.
