“He loves Galatasaray very much” — Kavukcu optimistic about Osimhen’s stay

By Monsurah Olatunji

Galatasaray vice president Abdullah Kavukcu has revealed that five of the world’s top clubs are keen on signing Victor Osimhen, but he remains hopeful the Nigerian forward will choose to stay at the Turkish club.

Osimhen, who is currently on loan from Napoli, has been one of the most sought-after strikers globally.

Despite heavy links to top European clubs like Chelsea and Arsenal, the 26-year-old is enjoying his time at Galatasaray, and Kavukcu insists that a permanent move to the Super Lig side is “not impossible.”

Kavukcu expressed confidence in the club’s ability to compete with Europe’s elite clubs for Osimhen’s signature, while also revealing that discussions about a permanent transfer have not yet taken place.

“Osimhen will announce his decision in April. At the moment, five of the world’s top clubs are interested in him,” Kavukcu speaking to Sport Mediaset.

“His arrival here was a dream — he came, and for now, he is playing with us. In January, there was talk of a transfer, but he stayed.”

Kavukcu added, “He loves Galatasaray very much. Right now, he is the dream of all our rivals. His stay at Galatasaray is not as impossible as it may seem.”

While discussions about Osimhen’s long-term future remain on hold, Kavukcu confirmed that the club is currently focused on their immediate goals, including winning the Turkish league title before making any decisions about the striker’s future.
