Ibrahim Sunusi: Nigerian striker sets new club record, wins top scorer gong in Canada

Mercurial Nigerian striker, Ibrahim Sunusi claimed the Canadian Football Championship’s top scorer prize following his solitary goal in CF Montreal’s 2-1 final defeat to Vancouver Whitecaps on Tuesday.
The former U23 striker got the goal in the second half after Whitecaps had scored two second half goals through Brain White and Ryan Gauld.
Sunusi went close to complete the comeback for Montreal in the closing stages of the match bur had his volley agonizingly struck against the crossbar.
The former Nasarawa United forward scored three goals with one assist from four games making him Montreal’s joint top scorer with Nacho Piatto.
CF Montreal will now turn their attention to their next Major League Soccer, MLS game at home to Minnesota United on Sunday.
