Nigerian striker Joseph Akpala showcased his scoring prowess for Oostende, finding the net in their compelling 3-3 away draw against 10-man Royal Antwerp in the Belgian Europa League qualifying play-offs Group B tie on Monday. Akpala’s impact was felt in the 28th minute as he opened the scoring, putting Oostende in the lead. However, Royal Antwerp responded with determination, leveling the score at 1-1 through Laurent Mendy’s converted penalty in the 36th minute.
