Kelechi Iheanacho Resolves to Bolster Leicester City Career After Scoring Against Arsenal

Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho is determined to rejuvenate his career at Leicester City following his pivotal role in the Foxes’ 3-1 Premier League victory over Arsenal on Wednesday. The Nigeria international, vying for a spot in coach Gernot Rohr’s squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, opened the scoring for the former Premier League champions in the 14th minute, contributing to their convincing win over the Gunners.

In a post-match interview with Sky Sports, Iheanacho emphasized the importance of hard work, stating, “That’s what every player wants, to play. When you work hard, you get your chance, so I’ll keep working hard and see what’s next.”

Reflecting on the team’s performance, he praised the positive momentum and confidence that propelled Leicester City to secure the win. “It’s always good to be involved in a good sport, with a great team. We started well and we got the first goal. We had the confidence and the momentum, and we finished well,” he added.

Describing his goal as a result of good composure, an excellent assist from Fousseni Diabata, and a polished finish, Iheanacho highlighted the significance of getting the first goal to boost confidence in the team.

As Leicester City prepares to face Tottenham Hotspur in their last game of the season, Iheanacho aims to make a lasting impression. Currently positioned ninth in the EPL table with 47 points from 37 games, Leicester City looks to conclude the season on a high note against the formidable Tottenham Hotspur, who hold the third spot with 74 points in the same number of games.
