Nigeria’s Chibuike Nwaiwu stars as Wolfsberger clinches first-ever Austrian Cup title

Nigerian midfielder Chibuike Nwaiwu played a starring role as Wolfsberger AC secured a historic 2–1 victory over Austria Vienna to win the Austrian Cup for the first time in the club’s history.

The triumph marks a major milestone for Wolfsberger AC, who had never lifted the domestic trophy before.

Nwaiwu’s standout performance in the final at Klagenfurt was instrumental, as he scored one of the two goals that sealed the win.

Coming off a strong league performance in which he netted a crucial goal, Nwaiwu carried his momentum into the final, delivering a sensational strike that proved decisive.

His goal helped Wolfsberger withstand a late push from Austria Vienna and hold on for a hard-fought win.
