By Saheed Afolabi
Kennedy Boboye, the head coach of Sunshine Stars, has praised the depth and resilience of his squad following their escape from the relegation zone in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
He expressed his satisfaction with the players’ attitude and commitment, which have been crucial in their efforts to remain in the league, emphasizing the importance of having a strong bench, noting that it played a pivotal role in turning around precarious situations during tie.
“We didn’t give up even with the result in the first half,” Boboye told the media.
“The players kept pushing because we knew we needed the victory. The result has pushed us up on the ladder and we will continue to rise.
“Most times in every good team, the bench is your strength because when you have a good bench, you can as well make changes that will get you results like it did for us.”
Sunshine Stars are currently in 11th place on the NPFL table with 46 points from 35 matches. Boboye remains focused on maintaining the team’s upward trajectory and ensuring they steer clear of relegation.
