Stand-in coach Ter Akombo has urged Lobi Stars to use their 2-2 draw against Shooting Stars as a turning point in their challenging Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
The Pride of Benue were held to a draw by the Oluyole Warriors in their Matchday 25 clash in Ibadan on Wednesday, but Akombo, who led the team following the resignation of Daniel Amokachi, commended the players for their resilience and positive attitude.
“It was an outstanding performance for a team battling relegation. I’m happy with the result,” Akombo told media.
“I thought we would get the three points. Unfortunately, we got a draw, but we are grateful.
“I believe this result will be a turning point for us.”
Lobi Stars, still at the bottom of the league table, will now focus on their upcoming North Central derby against Niger Tornadoes next Wednesday, hoping to build on the momentum from their encouraging draw.
