Eric Chelle: NFF secures new Abuja House for Super Eagles’ head coach

By Wale Mustapha

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has secured a new house for the newly appointed Head Coach of the Super Eagles, Eric Chelle, in Abuja.

The house, rented for the Malian coach, is located in a highbrow estate in Asokoro, a prime area of Nigeria’s capital city, according to SCORE Nigeria.

The NFF’s decision to provide Chelle with accommodation in Nigeria marks a departure from the arrangement with previous foreign coaches, Gernot Rohr and Jose Peseiro, who were not based in the country during their tenures.

The move signifies the NFF’s intention for Chelle to live and work in Nigeria, ensuring a more direct connection with the national team.

Chelle recently returned to Nigeria after a tour of Europe, where he met with several key Super Eagles players.

The Malian coach, appointed in January, is now focused on preparing the Super Eagles for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The West African team will face Rwanda’s Amavubi and Zimbabwe’s Warriors next month, and Chelle will be hoping to lead them to a strong start in the qualifiers.
