Ronaldo’s future, Rangnick has no certainty

After the draw conceded Thursday against Chelsea (1-1), the Reds Devils coach returned to the new good performance of Cristiano Ronaldo. Ralf Rangnick also gave his feelings about the Portuguese’s future in Manchester.
Still a scorer against the Blues, CR7 seems more essential than ever to a very moribund Mancunian team. At 37, the ex-Madrilenian delivers a more than correct season with 17 goals scored in the Premier League. After the match, his coach therefore did not fail to weave the praises of his striker, admiring in particular “his performance and his attitude (…) beyond his goal.”
It now remains to be seen whether Manchester will be able to keep their brilliant striker for at least another year. His contract runs until June 2024 at present. Asked about the future of Cristiano Ronaldo, Rangnick for his part was quite evasive. “It’s something we should talk about between Erik (ten Hag, future Manchester manager), the board and myself. Cristiano still has one year left on his contract. It is also important to know what he wants, if he wants to stay,” was thus content to answer the German coach, who will continue to work for MU with a different role. A possible non-qualification in the Champions League would in any case risk undermining the boiling CR7 file.
