Victor Osimhen, the reigning African Footballer of the Year, has revealed that his outstanding performances at Galatasaray are driven by the acceptance and love he has received from the club since his arrival.

The Nigerian striker joined the Turkish Super Lig giants last summer on loan from Napoli, following a move to Chelsea that ultimately fell through. Since then, Osimhen has quickly become one of the team’s key players, most recently scoring a brace in Galatasaray’s thrilling 3-2 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League.

In an interview after the win, Osimhen explained that the warm reception he received from both the club and the fans played a major role in his strong form.

“Since I came to Galatasaray, I saw how big a family this club is, the way they have treated me and my family in a wonderful manner,” Osimhen said.

“It’s important to be able to give them my all on the pitch. I’m focused on this team, I’m focused on the objective the club has set.”

The 25-year-old forward emphasized his commitment to helping the club achieve its goals, with a particular focus on winning the league and potentially going far in the Europa League.

“I want to give my all and make sure that we win the league, and if we can go further in the Europa League, we can win it also because we have a good squad,” Osimhen added.

His recent form has been exceptional, with the Super Eagles star now directly involved in nine goals across all competitions this season.

Osimhen’s blend of clinical finishing and team-oriented play has made him a key figure in Galatasaray’s attack, and his determination to succeed is clear as he looks to help the club achieve domestic and international glory.
