Valencia striker Umar Sadiq has urged his team to maintain their fight until the very end of the La Liga season as they battle to avoid relegation.
Sadiq scored the goal that earned Valencia a point in their 1-1 draw against Real Mallorca on Tuesday night, a result that keeps Los Che three points adrift of the relegation zone with six matches remaining.
Looking ahead, Valencia will host Girona in their next league fixture on Saturday, a match Sadiq described as another “cup final” for the struggling side.
“Now, we have to keep on fighting. From now on, every game for us is a cup final because we’re going all out,” Sadiq said. “We have to go all out against Girona at the Mestalla, which is always difficult for our opponents.”
Sadiq, who joined Valencia on a permanent transfer from Real Sociedad in January, has contributed two goals and two assists in 14 league appearances under manager Carlos Corberán.
With the season entering its critical final stretch, Valencia will be hoping their determination, led by Sadiq’s timely contributions, can help them secure top-flight survival.
