By Dayo Awoniyi

Edo Queens has made significant strides in strengthening their squad by securing the services of five new players in their bid to defend the NWFL Premiership title.

The club, determined to maintain their place at the top, has signed Anjor Mary from Bayelsa Queens, Rebecca Adegbemile from Delta Queens, and Winifred Eyegboria, Vincent Precious, and Happiness Titus from Remo Stars Ladies.

These new signings have all agreed to one-year contracts with the club, adding fresh energy and depth to the squad as they prepare for the challenging second half of the season.

Rollanson Odeh, the club’s General Manager, emphasized the importance of these additions, acknowledging that an overhaul in key areas was essential to face the tough challenges that lie ahead.

“We needed to overhaul some departments of the game because we know there’s a tough challenge ahead,” Odeh explained.

Head Coach Moses Aduku also voiced his excitement over the new arrivals, expressing confidence in the team’s preparedness for the second stanza.

“Boosting up the team was a good move, and I’d like to thank the State government for their massive support. We’re elated and ready to hit the ground running,” Aduku said.

As the defending champions, Edo Queens are fully aware of the target on their back and are determined to retain the NWFL Premiership title.

With these reinforcements, they are poised to make a strong push to stay atop the league and secure a return to continental competition.
