Eric Chelle urges Nigeria B to salvage pride in final CHAN clash against Congo

By Dayo Awoniyi

Super Eagles B head coach, Eric Chelle, has challenged his players to restore pride when they face Congo in their final group game at the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN).

Nigeria have already been eliminated following back-to-back defeats, but Chelle insists the team must sign off with a performance worthy of the shirt.

“For this game, there will be changes because we lost two matches; we need to change some things. The reality is that we lost due to too many mistakes,” the coach admitted.

“It’s difficult mentally because the tournament is already over for us, but we must return to Nigeria with something. Tomorrow’s game gives us the chance to put our mistakes behind us.

“I’m waiting to see how the players will start and finish this match because, as professionals, they must remain focused, maintain the right state of mind, and above all, show their qualities.”

Nigeria and Congo meet on Tuesday in Dar es Salaam, with Chelle’s men seeking to end their CHAN campaign on a positive note.
