NFF Moves to Secure Newcastle Forward William Osula for Super Eagles Switch

The Nigeria Football Federation has intensified efforts to strengthen the national team by targeting dual-national striker William Osula for a potential international switch.

Osula, who plays for Newcastle United, is eligible to represent both Nigeria and Denmark. According to reports, the federation has initiated contact with the player’s representatives, aiming to convince him to commit his international future to the Super Eagles.

The forward was most recently called up to the Denmark national football team squad in March but did not make a senior appearance. This leaves him eligible to switch allegiance under FIFA regulations.

Sources indicate that Nigeria views Osula as a valuable long-term addition, citing his physical presence and versatility across attacking positions. The move aligns with the federation’s broader plan to expand the talent pool by recruiting players of Nigerian descent competing abroad.

If successful, Osula would become part of a growing group of diaspora talents being integrated into the national setup as Nigeria prepares for upcoming international competitions.
