Niger Tornadoes Unveil Kabiru Dogo as Technical Adviser

Niger Tornadoes have officially appointed experienced Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) coach Kabiru Suleiman Dogo as the club’s new Technical Adviser on a three-year contract, with the clear objective of securing a continental ticket in the 2026/27 season.

Dogo was unveiled during a ceremony at the Niger State Ministry of Sports Development in Minna, where he was formally presented by the club’s management. The veteran tactician brings a wealth of experience, having previously managed Lobi Stars, Kwara United, Nasarawa United, and Sunshine Stars. He is also currently leading El-Kanemi Warriors to the President Federation Cup final against Ikorodu City, scheduled for this Saturday.

Speaking at the unveiling, the Permanent Secretary of the Niger State Ministry of Sports Development, Dr. Nuhu Garba Ngaski, described Dogo’s appointment as a key step in advancing the “New Niger” vision of Governor Mohammed Umar Bago. He reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to repositioning Niger Tornadoes as one of the country’s leading clubs.

Ngaski urged the new Technical Adviser to begin work immediately and called on the club’s management to remain united in pursuing the shared ambition of qualifying for continental competition. He also assured the team of the government’s continued support.

Club Chairman, Dr. Abubakar Abdullahi Kuso, emphasized that securing a continental qualification spot remains the club’s primary target for the upcoming NPFL campaign. He pledged the management’s full support for Dogo and his technical crew as they work towards achieving that goal.

Kuso further announced that Niger Tornadoes will return to the Bako Kontagora Stadium in Minna for their home matches. He revealed that renovation work on the stadium will resume immediately and is expected to be completed before the start of the new NPFL season in August.

In his first official comments as Technical Adviser, Dogo expressed gratitude to the club’s management and the Niger State Government for the opportunity. He promised to build a competitive team capable of meeting the club’s ambitions and assured supporters that they would witness a rejuvenated Niger Tornadoes under his leadership, in line with the “New Niger” development agenda.
