Chinwendu Ihezuo increases goal tally in Chinese Women’s Super League

Nigerian forward, Chinwendu Ihezuo scored her fifth goal of the season as Guangdong Meizhou Hakka surrendered a one-goal lead to suffer a 2-1 home defeat against rampaging Barbra Banda’s Shanghai Shengli.
Ihezuo, 25, scored the first goal of the game as early as the eighth minute of play in the her Chinese Women’s Super League encounter.
Not ready to drop points in its third consecutive game, Shanghai Shengli recovered from conceding early as Zambia star Banda equalised for the visitors in the 34th minute to make the game even at halftime.
After the interval, Shanghai Shengli attempted to pick its first win in three games after a previous draw and defeat in its last two games.
Zambian captain, Barbara Banda to the rescue once again as she converted the visitors’ second and winning goal of the game in the 56th minute.
The win moved Shanghai Shengli to the fourth position on the log with 22 points after 14 games, three points behind third-placed Beijing BG Phoenix and seven points short of Jiangsu Wuxi.
Ihezuo’s goal against Shanghai Shengli was her fifth goal of the campaign and Guangdong Meizhou Hakka occupy the seventh position in the ten-team league with 16 points.
