NFF launches Mission X as Super Falcons WAFCON 2024 mantra

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has launched Mission X, a passionate media and fan mobilization campaign aimed at rallying support for the Super Falcons as they chase their 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title in Morocco next month.

Key Highlights:

  • Mission X is designed to unite football fans — at home and abroad — behind the Super Falcons in their pursuit of another historic triumph.
  • The Super Falcons, Africa’s most decorated women’s national team, have already won 9 out of 12 WAFCON tournaments since 1998.
  • The campaign slogan:
Mission X. One Team. One Goal. One More Star.

NFF’s Commitment:

Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, NFF General Secretary, emphasized the federation’s full backing of the Super Falcons:

“We are launching the Mission X campaign to sensitize football-loving Nigerians everywhere… to come out and support the team.”

He added that the campaign is meant to ensure the team feels the energy and support of Nigerians from Abuja to Casablanca, and through every match venue in the tournament.

Legacy and Ambition:

  • The Super Falcons also represented Africa in the 1991 and 1995 FIFA Women’s World Cups, though WAFCON was not held in a tournament format during those years.
  • With nine titles, they are now eyeing a 10th championship, solidifying their status as the undisputed queens of African football.

What to Expect:

  • Media activations, fan engagement activities, and diaspora mobilization.
  • A unified national effort to inspire and empower the team toward continental glory.

🇳🇬 All eyes are on Morocco. Will the Super Falcons complete Mission X?
One team. One goal. One more star.
