FIFAWWC: Lauren James deactivates comments on social media after red card

After her red card against Nigeria in the Round of 16 clash, England forward, Lauren James has deactivated the comment sections on her various social media pages.
European champions survived Nigeria scare without James as she was sent off for a stamp on Nigeria defender, Michelle Alozie with a 4-2 win on penalties after a 0-0 scoreline in regulation time.
She had since deactivated comment sessions o her Twitter and Instagram pages which will barr fans from commenting on her so cial media handles.
James saw red for a petulant stamp on Alozie late in normal time and she committed the infringement in the 85th minute and was initially given a yellow card by the referee for her offence.
This was, however, changed to a red card after a Video Assistant Referee review of the incident.
England will next face either Colombia or Jamaica in the quarter final without James who has six goal contribution for the Lionesses at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
James has scored three goals with three assists in four games for the English side at the tournament.
There are possibilities that her suspension might be increased from a match to three matches after FIFA investigation on her stamp on Alozike which could mean more heartbreak for her team for the rest of the tournament.
