Confusion greets Fouad Oki suspension as Lagos Football Association chairman
By Saheed Afolabi
Contrary to the reports making the rounds in local media that the Lagos State Football Association board have suspended Fouad Oki as chairman, a powerful source informed NigeriaFootball that the claims making the round are untrue.

The board members of the state ruling body have suspended Oki over gross misconducts barely after four months he was elected as Chairman of Lagos State Football Association, with five in support and four against the decision.

The disgruntled board members led by vice chairman of LSFA, Alhaji Liameed Olawale Gafar cited various violention offences committed by the chairman from the  statutes  of the Nigeria Football Federation.

However, a reliable source, who is a board member of LSFA and pleaded to speak on anonymity, said the report that there was a physical assault by Oki to Gafar Liameed was a lie spread by the detractors of the board.

“Nothing of such happened, there was no physical assault at the board meeting,” he disclosed.
“Nobody slapped anyone at the meeting. A motion was moved and it wasn’t seconded, as we speak, all the board members are with the chairman. There’s no cause for alarm because no violence was recorded at the meeting.”
The obvious infractions were unconnected to troubling policies imposted on clubs by Oki led board, including a 550 thousand naira fee on the NNL clubs for their home matches, which was protested against, with vice chairman, Liameed promising to look into the matter with plans to reduce the outrageous fee.
