Christy Ucheibe ecstatic over first UEFA Women’s Champions League goal with Benfica

Nigerian midfielder, Christy Ucheibe is still relishing scoring her first UEFA Women’s Champions League goal for SL Benfica.
The Super Falcons’ diminutive midfielder was among the goal scorers for the Eagles in their second leg clash against Apollo Nicosia that ended 4-0 last Wednesday in Lisbon.
Ucheibe who was a second half substitute in the match headed home the last goal for the Portuguese champions to qualify for the group stage 11-0 on aggregate.
The former Nasarawa Amazons midfielder expressed her excitement with the goal, stressing that she had a feeling of scoring before the match just as she dedicated the goal to God for the opportunities to make it happen.
“I’m so happy to have scored my first Champions league goal for SL Benfica, I knew I was going to score because I have the feeling of the goal even before going to the stadium for the game,” Ucheibe told NigeriaFootball.ng.
“When I went for the cornel kick I just said in my mind this is the moment and boom it was a goal, I am dedicating the goal to God Almighty alone because him alone deserve it.”
Ucheibe and Benfica will be taking on Frankfurt, Rosengard and Barcelona in the Group stage of the competition.
