NPFL: Eugene Agagbe hails Lobi Stars players for nervy win over Rangers
By Wale Mustapha
Head Coach of Lobi Stars, Eugene Agagbe has lauded his players for their resilience and brilliant performance in their 2-1 win over Enugu Rangers in the Nigeria Premier Football League, (NPFL) encounter on Thursday.
The grueling clash decided at the Lafia Township Stadium saw Lobi Stars taking the lead in the 23rd minute through Alao Danbani before Chidiebere Nwobodo restored parity for the Flying Antelopes midway through the second half.
The Pride of Benue got the winning goal 10 minutes from time when substitute Stanley Ogabor jabbed home a low cross from Monday Akile and coach Agagbe feels the tie was highly tactical, while assuring a better display next time.
“I have to thank and congratulate my players for making it happen for us against a quality side like Rangers,” Agagbe told Nigeriafootball.ng.
“It was a top tactical game against a quality side, they gave us a very good match but for the tactics deployed to contain them from the bench, it would have been a different song we are singing now.”
Lobi Stars have moved to second on the log with 11 points from six games. Their next fixture comes up against Bayelsa United in Yenagoa on Sunday.
