John Obi Mikel celebrates Luiz Diaz’s father’s freedom from kidnappers

Mikel John Obi has congratulated Liverpool’s star Luiz Diaz on the freedom of his abducted father.
The Colombian Football Federation has announced the release of Luis Diaz’s father from kidnappers after 13 days in captivity.
Luís Manuel Díaz was reportedly abducted by the National Liberation Army, also known as the ELN, at a gas station in Colombia close to the Venezuelan border.
The incident which took place two weeks ago saw both Luiz Diaz’s parents abducted. However, his mother, Cilenis Marulanda, was freed the next day while his father remained in detention.
Former Super Eagles captain Mikel John Obi who had a similar situation as his father had been abducted twice, has sent his word of encouragement as he celebrates with Luis Diaz on the freedom of his father.
Pa Obi was kidnapped just before Mikel led out Nigeria for their third game against Argentina at the Russia 2018 World Cup.
Following the release of Diaz’s father, Mikel took to social media to celebrate.
He posted a message that said, “Glad your dad has been released I can relate to this feeling of Joy @luisdiaz19_”
