Abdullahi Lawal, midfielder for Shooting Stars, has voiced his confidence in the team’s ability to finish the season on a high note in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

The Oluyole Warriors have been enjoying a successful spell of form, remaining undefeated in their last six matches.

Lawal believes this momentum will carry them to a strong finish, despite currently trailing behind Lobi Stars and Rangers on the NPFL table, while expressed his certainty that Shooting Stars will celebrate success at the end of the season, emphasizing their determination to secure victory in every remaining fixture.

“We are destined for greatness, and I believe this is the season for Shooting Stars,” Lawal affirmed, as quoted by Lodg Express. “We are confident that we will emerge victorious.”

Acknowledging the competition posed by other teams, Lawal stressed the importance of aiming for a top-three finish, expressing determination to avoid any regrets at the end of the season.

“Even though we are currently behind Lobi Stars and Rangers, we have numerous matches ahead, and our goal is to win them all,” Lawal stated. “We are focused on securing a spot in the top three.”

Despite the pressure associated with such aspirations, Lawal emphasized that the team does not allow themselves to be burdened by it, opting instead to focus on their performance on the pitch.

Shooting Stars currently occupy the sixth position in the NPFL table with 40 points from 26 matches.

Their next challenge awaits them as they prepare to face relegation-threatened Niger Tornadoes on Monday, March 25, at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna.
