Abia Warriors assure better Nigeria Premier Football League season

Newly appointed chairman of Abia Warriors, John Obuh has vow to bring his wealth of experience to improve the performance and administration management of the club in the upcoming Nigeria Premier Football League season.
Obuh and his staff paid a familiarization visit at the office of Sports Commissioner, Sir. Nwaobilor Ananaba to solicit the ministry’s support ahead of new NPFL season and the veteran football tactician pledged
“I am happy that Abia state have a very hard working commissioner who is ready to make my work as chairman easier, and I believe that you will develop sports in the state,” Obuh told media.
“I am here to improve Abia Warriors in every aspect, and that since after my appointment, i hit the ground running, in ensuring that there is good relationship between staff, management and players.”
The former Flying Eagles, Kwara United, Akwa United and Enugu Rangers coach maintained that the coaching crew have recruited players that would help Abia Warriors achieve sucess as he reassured of non interfere in the technical areas despite him being a renowned coach.
“People keep asking the same question if I will be comfortable working as a club chairman and not interfering with the coaches on technical issues, the answer to that question is that people should understand that coaches are also football administrators, it is only in Nigeria that we don’t see coaches being called football administrators,” he continued.
“I have told my coaching crew that they have total control of the team as regards the technical areas, but I can also contribute once in a while if needed, as we have recruited players that we think will help us perform better in the league this season.”
Receiving the coach, the Commissioner for Sports and Youth development, Sir Nwaobilor Ananaba, thanked coach John Obuh for his visit, while assuring him of the ministry and government support in ensuring that everything needed to achieve maximum result will be made available to the club.
He praised Coach Obuh for accepting to work in his state of origin, despite having offers from other clubs in the country, and commended him for what he has achieved in football as a player and a coach.
