Alex Iwobi blow: Everton star suffers scary injury in FA Cup loss to Manchester United

Everton midfielder Alex Iwobi could face a long spell on the sideline after he was stretchered off in his side’s FA Cup loss to Manchester United on Friday.
The Third Round clash of the oldest club tournament held at Old Trafford was living up to the billing as the Toffees were giving United a torrid moments despite trailing 2-1.
The Frank Lampard were in the mood to even the score as they came out smoking in the second half before Iwobi was knocked in the ankle by United’s left back, Malacia.
The Nigeria internation would required a long time with medics on the pitch before he was stretchered off and replaced by Abdoulaye Doucouré.
The Super Eagles’ star has been one of Everton’s best players this season with more minutes to his belt.
Iwobi was key to Everton beating the drop last season making him one of Lampard’s trusted players in the Toffee’s set up.
He has scored once while providing five assists for the Toffees in 18 Premier League games this season.
Manchester United took the lead in the 4th minute through Antony but Everton got their equaliser in the 14th minute through Conor Coady following a school boy error by David de Gea.
Coady would then turned hero to villain when he redirected Bruno’s cross to his own net, that was a minutes after Iwobi was subbed off.
Marcus Rashford put the game beyond the reach of Everton in the stoppage as he scored from the spot following a foul on Gernacho in the box.
