BUA Group Denies Bidding for 70% Stake in Kano Pillars

BUA Group has dismissed reports claiming it submitted a bid to acquire a 70 percent stake in Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) club Kano Pillars, describing the claims as false and misleading.

The reports, which circulated widely online, alleged that BUA Group and its Chairman, Abdul Samad Rabiu, had expressed interest in purchasing a majority stake in the Kano-based football club. The speculation was welcomed by many football fans and Nigerians who viewed the move as a potential boost for the club.

However, in a statement released on Monday, BUA Group firmly denied the reports, stressing that neither the company nor its chairman had made any bid or held discussions with any party regarding the acquisition.

The statement, titled “False Claims of Bid to Acquire Stake in Kano Pillars Football Club,” said the publication was inaccurate and did not represent the position or actions of the company.

“Our attention has been drawn to an online publication suggesting that BUA Group and its Chairman, Abdul Samad Rabiu, have submitted a bid to acquire a 70% stake in Kano Pillars Football Club.

“We would like to clarify that this report is inaccurate and does not reflect any position, action, or communication from BUA Group or Abdul Samad Rabiu. No such bid has been made, and there has been no engagement with any party on this matter.

“We kindly request that this report be disregarded, and we encourage the public and members of the press to rely only on official statements issued through BUA Group’s verified channels for accurate information regarding our activities.”

The company urged the public and media organisations to verify information through its official communication channels before publishing or sharing reports concerning its business activities.
