Europa League: Rigas boss believes Osimhen would’ve given Galatasaray a huge boost
By Saheed Afolabi
Rigas FS coach, Viktors Morozs is certain Victor Osimhen could have been a valuable boost if injury hadn’t ruled him out of their Europa League tie.
The Latvia giant stunned the Turkish side after coming from two goals down to equal the score line 2-2 at full-time.
Osimhen who missed the game through a muscle thigh injury could be out for up to six weeks.
Morozs said if Osimhen had played, he would have strengthened the Galatasaray side and ran riot on his side defense.
The gaffer believes the presence of the Nigeria star would have spelled doom for Rigas and he will be handful for the defenders to keep under control.
“It would have been different if Osimhen had played. He would have added strength to Galatasaray. Osimhen is a different player than Icardi. In my opinion, he could have passed our defense more easily,” Morozs was quoted by Haber Global.
“It would have been difficult to play against such a forward. His not playing today was a deficiency for Galatasaray. Osimhen is a strong and dangerous player. It would have been difficult for us if he had played today.”
Galatasaray top the Turkish Super Lig with 19 points from seven games and would clash with Alanyaspor on Sunday, October 6.
