Ikhenoba urges Insurance players to stay committed ahead of NPFL second half
By Wale Mustapha
Head Coach of Insurance FC, Greg Ikhenoba, has called on his players to maintain a professional attitude and sustained commitment as they return from their holiday break.
The Benin-based side resumed training on Tuesday, preparing for the second half of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
Ikhenoba, addressing the team after Wednesday’s session in Benin, emphasized that every player must contribute towards achieving the club’s objectives for the remainder of the season.
“I’m happy to welcome my boys back to work. We know the tasks at hand, and I’m pleased that the players understand where we are, where we are coming from, and where we hope to be, as well as the challenges that lie ahead,” Ikhenoba stated.
He further urged his players to prioritize the team’s goals over personal comfort, saying, “Work has begun, and I’ve told the players to put aside any distractions, make sacrifices, and stay focused. We want to finish the season strongly and be rewarded later for our hard work.”
Ikhenoba also acknowledged the support from the club’s management, particularly Hon Desmond Amadin Enabulele, the Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission.
“The management has given us the approval to reinforce the team to compete at a higher level. We’ve started the process, and we’re looking to fill the right positions to match the commitment shown by our chairman and the state government,” Ikhenoba added.
Bendel Insurance will resume their league campaign with a challenging encounter against Enyimba when the NPFL resumes on Saturday, January 25.
