Kuku Idowu: Nigeria midfielder joins BIIK Kazygurt from Osun Babes

Nigerian midfielder, Kuku Oluwadamilola Idowu has completed her switch to Kazakhstan champions, BIIK Kazygurt, for the coming 2023-24 season.
Idowu joined the Shymkent-based team from the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) side, Osun Babes.
The defensive midfielder was part of Osun Babes’ campaign in the top-flight NWFL Premiership in the past three seasons before its relegation at the end of the 2022/2023 season.
She became the second Nigerian to join the team this summer after the club’s confirmation of the acquisition of Salisu Anuoluwapo Grace from NWFL Premiership champions, Bayelsa Queens.
The switch from Nigeria to Kazakhstan also made her the third player from the NWFL to have joined Kaloyan Petkov’s side.
Cameroon’s first-choice goalkeeper, Bawou Ange Gabrielle also joined the team from Bayelsa Queens this summer.
The Kazakhstani club has had a good history of signing Nigerian players, including likes of Charity Reuben, Juliet Sunday, and Abigail Sunday have in the past played for BIIK Kazygurt.
The team has won 16 Kazakhstani women’s championships in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022.
