Mercy Idoko: Nigeria youth international joins Portuguese side Racing Power

Nigeria youth international, Mercy Idoko has completed her switch to the newly promoted Portuguese Liga BPI side, Racing Power.
She joined her new team from Israeli women’s topflight where she played for Hapoel Katamon Jerusalem last season.
Her new team sporadically gained promotion from third tier to the top-flight over the space of four seasons.
Idoko scored three goals for Hapoel Katamon Jerusalem last season before departing her former team.
She was part of the Nigeria national U-20 side that qualified for the 2022 FIFA Women’s U-20 World Cup and became the first member of the squad to secure a professional contract abroad after her switch to Isreal.
The former Nasarawa Amazons player featured in all Falconets four games as the team reached the quarter final of the Word Cup and bowed out losing 2-0 to the Netherlands.
The 20-year-old will hope to play her first game for Racing Power against Lank Vilaverdense in preparation for the league.
The newly promoted Portuguese team will open their league campaign against Damaisense on September 17.
