NPFL: Bala Abubakar lauds Katsina United players for ‘special point’ at Tornadoes

Technical Adviser of Katsina United, Bala Abubakar has commended his boys for their spirited performances in the goaless draw against Niger Tornadoes in the Nigeria Premier Football League tie on Sunday in Kaduna.
The Chanji Boys stead through the pressure of the home team to register their first point on the road after six games.
Abubakar who joined Katsina United few weeks ago had previously handled Tornadoes on different occasions and had emphasized the importance of the point as it will boost the team’s morale haven gone through difficult spells under former coaches.
“The players knew what is at stake, they were aware that we need to consolidate on the six points where got at home and must put everything for this match,” Abubakar told NigeriaFootball.ng.
“I’m happy they were also to deliver, we could have gotten more but this point means more. I really commend them for the performance and making me proud as you know this result is special to me personally.”
Assessing his team after the first round, Abubakar refused to blame anyone for the slow start but hailed the management for taking quick decisions to stabilize the team just as he assured of an improved Katsina United when the second round commences.
“We’ve identified where we are having issues which is attack, we are very strong in defense and looked formidable in midfield, but we need more strength in attack, we are on a look out to beef the department and become more stronger,” he continued.
“I’m not promising anything to the fans, but I’m sure Katsina United fans will be very happy with the team at the end of the season.”
Katsina United finished eighth on the log after the first round of the league garnering 27 points.
