NPFL: Lobi Stars welcome Finnish head coach

In a significant development, Technical Adviser of Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side, Lobi Stars’ Daniel Amokachi welcomed Mika Lonnstrom to the club on Saturday.
Lonnstrom is from Finland and will work as Lobi Stars’ head coach. The head coach immediately assumed his duties during the team’s training session at the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne-Remo, Ogun State on Saturday.
He will take charge of the club for the first time in Sunday’s NPFL clash against Remo Stars.
50-year-old Lonnstrom has over 10-year experience as coach, assistant, and Director of Sports at various clubs.
From 2002 to 2012, he worked with HyPS (Assistant), FC Futura, MPS (Women), MYPA, and Roi Et United.
He also worked with Thailand U16 national team as assistant coach, Police United, New Radiant SC, Saraburi, Maji Maji, and STK Samorin.
His last duty was with HIFK Fotboll where he served as Director of Sports from 2018 to 2022.
