By Wale Mustapha
The chances of Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen joining Chelsea in this summer transfer window got a major boost for a swap deal as Napoli has reduced their asking price.
The Super Eagles’ forward has tendered a request to leave Napoli this summer with notable clubs being linked with his services. The 25-year-old will end up with the Chelsea with the latest development coming from London.
Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna has held talks with Chelsea officials in London, where the two parties have been negotiating a deal, according to The Times.
Reports claim that Chelsea have been told a bid of £38.5m plus Romelu Lukaku and Cesare Casadei would be enough to persuade them to sell striker Osimhen this summer.
Napoli are trying to sign Lukaku but cannot afford the £40m asking price.
Instead, Antonio Conte’s side have proposed a complex swap deal involving the Belgium international and Casadei.
