Nigeria and Genk striker Tolu Arokodare has expressed his excitement about the possibility of joining German Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich this summer.
Arokodare has been the subject of transfer rumors, particularly linking him to a move to Vincent Kompany’s side following a standout season in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League.
The 23-year-old forward has scored 20 goals and provided six assists for Genk this season, attracting the attention of top European clubs.
When asked about the possibility of joining Bayern Munich, even if it meant being second choice behind England captain Harry Kane, Arokodare revealed he would embrace the opportunity.
“If the opportunity comes, I have to make sure I’m ready. You don’t know how many times a train will pass, so I don’t want to miss any opportunities,” Arokodare told Het Laatste Nieuws.
“That I would be the stand-in for Harry Kane? Yes. That would be nice, wouldn’t it. It’s still rumours, I haven’t had any contact.”
The Super Eagles forward’s comments come as speculation continues about his future, with Bayern Munich reportedly interested in adding him to their attacking ranks ahead of the new season.
