Rumour Mills: Borussia Dortmund target Nigeria’s Tolu Arokodare for summer transfer

By Wale Mustapha
Bundesliga powerhouse Borussia Dortmund have identified Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare as a top transfer target ahead of the 2025/26 season, according to Transfermarkt.
The 24-year-old forward has been in scintillating form for Belgian side KRC Genk, leading the Jupiler Pro League scoring chart with 22 goals and seven assists this season.
Arokodare’s performances have attracted interest from multiple clubs across Europe, including previous links to English and Turkish sides.
He came close to joining Trabzonspor last summer but opted to stay at Genk following talks with manager Thorsten Fink.
With his contract running until 2027, Genk are reportedly open to negotiating a transfer if a suitable offer is received.
Dortmund’s interest signals a potential move to bolster their attacking options as they look to build a competitive squad for the upcoming campaign.
Arokodare’s physical presence, eye for goal, and consistency have made him one of the most sought-after forwards in European football this season.
