Super Falcons to leave for Women’s World Cup in Australia July 2

The Nigeria women’s national team will jet out of the country to Australia on July 2 for a training tour in final preparations for the Women’s World Cup this month.
The Super Falcons will be having a two weeks training tour in Brisbane, Australia – city where they will also play host their last two games in Group B during the tournament.
Before the leaving the country, the players met with the Nigeria first lady, Senator Remi Tinubu, ably represent by the APC National Women Leader at the Transcorp Hilton hotel to motivate the squad in order to have a convincing tournament in Australia and New Zealand.
The nine time African champions will lock horns with Olympic champions, Canada on the 21st of July at the Melbourne’s Rectangular Stadium before taking on co-host Australia on July 27 and wrapping up the group stage with Republic of Ireland on the 31st of July at the Lang Park stadium in Brisbane.
The Super Falcons will be making it tenth appearance at the Mundial and will be looking at surpassing the quarter final stage record they set in 1999.
The FIFA Women’s World Cup will run from July 20 to August 20 in Australia and New Zealand.
