Two Rivers United players named in Caf Confederation Cup Team of the Week

After sealing a place in the quarter final of this year’s CAF Confederations Cup, two Rivers United players have earned a place each in the team of the week for their gracious performance for the club.
Nyima Nwagua and Joseph Onoja were selected as part of the CAFCC team of the week following their stellar performance against Diables Noirs, with Nwagua scoring a brace at the Godswill Akpabio stadium, Uyo.
While Onoja was a nightmare to the defenders as he terrorized the Diables Noirs defense from the wings.
Stanley Eguma tutored side will face Asec Mimosa in their last CAFCC group game on the second of April.
Al Akhdar, Young Africans of Tanzania and Tala’ea El Gaish followed in the footsteps of Rivers United by having two players each, while the trio of Asec Mimosas, AS Real Bamako and AS FAR of Morocco have a player each.
With ten points from five matches, Rivers United sealed their qualification to the CAFCC quarter final after securing a 2-2 draw with Diables Noirs in Uyo.
A win or draw for Rivers United will guarantee their status as group B table toppers to the next round while ASEC Mimosa will give their best to ensure that take the table toppers post to boost their title chances.
