Nigeria international Victor Boniface has expressed his joy after reaching a significant milestone in his career—making his Champions League debut.
The 23-year-old striker, originally from Akure, Ondo State, played a key role in Bayer Leverkusen’s impressive 4-0 away victory over Feyenoord in the Netherlands, contributing notably over 62 minutes of play.
Although Boniface didn’t score, his performance helped secure the dominant win for the German champions. Reflecting on his journey, he shared a heartfelt post on X, reminiscing about his earlier days watching Champions League matches at local viewing centers.
“From paying 30 Naira to watch Champions League football for night back then for 323 Army Barrack Akure to playing my first Champions League game, proud of this moment,” he wrote.
His transition from a spectator to a player in one of football’s most prestigious competitions underscores his remarkable progress and determination.
