NPFL: Bayelsa United coach Ladan Bosso rues missed chances against Rangers

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

The head coach of Bayelsa United, Ladan Bosso is worried that his players didn’t take their chances against Rangers International FC on Sunday.

Both sides settled for a 0-0 draw at the end of the Matchday 23 of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

Bosso opined that his team intended to win the match but were profligate in front of goal.

“We plan to go for the outright three points but along the line, decisions from the officials. I believe there are ways when we are training, the offside. You never catch an offside when there is a rebound,” Bosso said.

The former Nigeria U-20 coach faulted the goal scored by his side which was ruled out for an offside.

“That ball was last touched by the goalkeeper. From a defender to the goalkeeper before the guy scored the goal. Why was it canceled?” He added.

“The outcome of this match was a draw. If Rangers can pick a draw here, we can also win away.

“As far as I am concerned, I think when the game was 0-0 in the first half, I believed they could win in the second half, and they did just that. The performance of the first half was better than what they did in the first half. That’s the outcome of coaching.

“The issue now is that the player should begin to take their chances as early as possible. Taking those changes in the first half with one or two goals up which I saw that those chances were available.” He concluded.

Bosso’s side will now shift their focus to the next clash against Kwara United in Ilorin.
