Akor Adams Agrees Venezia Move as Sevilla Hold Out for €15m

Nigeria striker Akor Adams has agreed personal terms with Serie A side Venezia, paving the way for a potential departure from Sevilla, with the Spanish club demanding €15 million to sanction the transfer.

Adams was absent from Sevilla’s first day of preseason training at the José Ramón Cisneros Palacios Sports City on Monday, July 6, after being granted additional time off following his international commitments with Nigeria in June.

While the forward is expected to report back later, there is growing speculation that he may not return to the club’s training base if negotiations progress swiftly.

According to reports from Italy, backed by several Spanish media outlets, Adams has agreed to join Venezia on a contract that would keep him at the club until 2030. The agreement signals the Nigerian international’s desire to leave Sevilla, making a transfer increasingly likely despite the current gap in valuation between the two clubs.

Venezia recently opened discussions with Sevilla and submitted an initial offer worth around €10 million. However, the La Liga side rejected the bid, insisting on a €15 million transfer fee for the 25-year-old.

Sevilla’s asking price matches Adams’ current market valuation on Transfermarkt and is €5 million lower than the amount the club reportedly demanded when Venezia’s interest first emerged.

Adams joined Sevilla from Montpellier in January 2025 in a deal worth just over €5 million. A sale at the requested fee would represent a significant profit for the Spanish club while also helping generate funds to register new signings ahead of the new season.
