Former Nigeria U-17 international goalkeeper Daniel Jinadu has joined Jersey Bulls FC on an emergency transfer, following a late injury concern to the club’s first-choice goalkeeper, Van Der Vliet.
The 23-year-old, who has been without a club since departing Welling United last year, was brought in as last-minute cover ahead of the Bulls’ weekend fixture.
The club confirmed the signing via their official X (formerly Twitter) account: “We’re delighted to bring in goalkeeper Daniel Jinadu as cover for today’s game, due to a late fitness test happening before kick-off with Van Der Vliet.”
Jinadu, once regarded as a top goalkeeping prospect, featured as Nigeria’s No.1 at the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil, starting three of the Golden Eaglets’ four matches.
He previously developed through the youth systems of Premier League sides Chelsea and West Ham United.
Despite his recent absence from competitive football, the emergency call-up offers a crucial opportunity for Jinadu to revive his professional career and return to regular action.
The duration of his stay at Jersey Bulls FC remains subject to further assessments of Van Der Vliet’s injury.
