Akor Adams emerged as Sevilla’s hero after coming off the bench to score a dramatic late winner in their 2-1 comeback victory over RCD Espanyol at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium on Saturday.
Espanyol broke the deadlock in the 56th minute when Tyrhys Dolan capitalised on a defensive error from Sevilla to put the visitors ahead.
Adams entered the game in the 75th minute, replacing Rubén Vargas, and quickly made his impact felt.
Sevilla restored parity in the 82nd minute through Andrés Castrín before Adams sealed the turnaround in stoppage time.
The Nigerian striker calmly finished after being picked out by Alexis Sánchez.
The goal continues Adams’ impressive campaign, with the forward now boasting nine goals and three assists in 29 league appearances for Sevilla this season.
The victory lifts Sevilla FC to 12th place in the league standings with 40 points.
